A slow-moving storm system will bring the chance for severe storms and flooding across the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley into the weekend. A few severe storms could produce damaging winds and large hail in places like Dallas, Fort Worth, Abilene and Lubbock on Friday. The severe threat will transition to more of a heavy rain threat across much of North and Central Texas Saturday before shifting east into East Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas Sunday.
