Two Atlantic Areas Of Interest For National Hurricane Center

The National Hurricane Center is now watching two interest areas for potential tropical development in the Atlantic Basin. The first is a tropical wave moving towards the Caribbean that could end the season-to-date shutout of named systems in the Caribbean Sea, while the other is a non-tropical low offshore of the mid-Atlantic that could develop some subtropical characteristics over the weekend. If a tropical or subtropical storm develops from one of these systems, it would be named Melissa.
